Abstract Guidelines
Submission
  • Please submit your abstracts via internet. Abstracts submitted via e-mail, post, or other methods will generally not be accepted.
  • Both a brief abstract and a pdf export of the powerpoint template are requested for a qualified submission.
  • The conference language is English.
  • Abstract submission is only possible in English.
  • Abstract changes and corrections will be accepted until the deadline; midnight 2nd of August
  • Ensure the citable publication of the abstracts.
  • For presenting authors of accepted abstracts, registration and participation in this conference is binding.
  • The abstracts will be categorized in one of these groups:
  1. Experimental study
  2. Clinical study
  3. Case report
  4. Clinical video
  • Whether an abstract is accepted for oral or poster presentation is left to the scientific committee’s discretion.
Brief abstract contents and format
  • Do not use the title or the name(s) of the author(s) in the body of the abstract.
  • Please formulate clearly and concisely the questions, the methods used, the results and the conclusion of each abstract.
  • Abstract titles should be concise and direct.
  • Maximum length of 1000 characters (including spaces).
  • Abstracts may include up to 3 Each reference inserted into the abstract body
    counts for 30 characters.
  • Please use a minimum of formatting for abstracts. We cannot guarantee that abstracts will be formatted in the exact way as they are entered.
  • Avoid using non-standard abbreviations.
  • Multiple abstract submissions are permitted and encouraged
Powerpoint slide template contents and format
  • Not one slide is allowed to contain any reference to the hospital, university or author.  Do not include authors in the title. If you enter authors in the title, your presentation will be rejected. Do not include institutions in the title. If you enter institutions in the title, the presentation will be rejected
  • Font, size, and color for text have been formatted for you in the Slide Master
  • The minimum font size 21 pt
  • When you have finished your presentation, please save your presentation first as a PPT or PPTX file (depending on which version of Powerpoint you use) for your own reference.
  • After this use the option in PowerPoint to save your file as a PDF file. Click “File”, choose the option “Save as”, choose the location where you want to save the file, type the File name – please use your Abstract Id as the file name and in the “Save as type” list, click PDF (*.pdf).
  • Choose the smaller filesize, click “Minimum size (publishing online).
  • The PDF file is uploaded through the SATS 2021 website (sats2021.no), not the PPT or PPTX file
Slide 1: Title & ID

– The first slide contains the Title of the presentation and also the Abstract ID from the online submission site

– Do not use the “Enter” button in your title. This action will add hard returns, which are not allowed

– Do not use abbreviations in the title. Abbreviations may be used in the following slides

– Do not end the title with a period (.)

– Do not use quotation marks in a title (” “)

– The title must not be CAPS. Do not bolditalicize, underline,superscript or subscript any items in the title.

Slide 2: Background; maximum 8 bullet points

Slide 3: Material & Methods (if applicable); maximum 8 bullet points

Slide 4: Results 1; maximum 8 bullet points

Slide 5: Results 2 (can include text, table, graph, figure, image, but no videos)

Slide 6: Conclusion (only text. maximum 5 bullet points)

Notifications (Emails)
  • Please note that only the submitting (corresponding) author receives all abstract notifications. 
    Make sure that emails from information@smart-abstract.com are not marked as spam by your email provider.
  • The submitting (corresponding) author takes responsibility for informing all co-authors about successful submission, acceptance or rejection and forwards the received instructions for the presentation of the abstract to the presenting author.
Presentation format
Oral presentations
  • Oral presentations are limited to 6 minutes + 2 minutes discussion.
  • The language is English.
  • The presentation should be prepared in PowerPoint format (16:9).
Poster presentations
  • The language is English.
  • The poster is to be presented during a moderated session.
  • Moderated poster presentations are limited to 3 minutes + 2 minutes discussion.
Video presentations
  • It must be clearly outlined in the abstract that it is a video presentation.
  • The language is English.
  • The video format must be MP4 (MPEG-4) or MOV in 16:9.
  • Video presentations are limited to 3 minutes + 2 minutes discussion.
